Beau Benefit

You could feel the love in the room! The overwhelming support surrounded Beau and wrapped him up like a blanket of comfort. Even though Beau suffered the effects of a home invasion, robbery and a beating, he was full of gratitude because the experience brought him to this place, where he could witness the strength of community. Rob Phillips organized the concert quickly through word of mouth and emails. The original venue Markethall, was changed just 6 hours before show time when it became apparent that the space would not accommodate the growing support. Local musicians hit the Showplace Performance Centre stage including Serena Ryder, Rick Fines, Terry Guiel, Robin Hawkins, Bridget Foley, Dub Trinity Band and Beau Dixon himself. Local businesses donated food and auction items to raise money for Beau to replace stolen equipment. Emotionally touched Beau, stood on stage and told the sold out crowd that our community need not wait for something to happen to band together. We could come together once a year and share support for a local cause. Equally important, we could come together to feel the strength of our community.
