2008 December > Keene Pumpkin Festival Keene’s first Annual Pumpkin Festival was a little wetter than planned but still a very entertaining day for families. The whole festival was very well organized and the schedule was packed with a variety of events. For the energetic ones, a 5km run of the four corners of Keene started off the day. Next we watched the “kids & pets” costume parade beginning at North Shore School. Other events included the Heritage Walks and Plump-kin Weigh-off, Pumpkin Idol contest, Antique Car Show, Ham ‘n Harvest Supper and Halloween Howl Dance. Live entertainment, mini farmers market and the petting zoo continued all day. We look forward to next year’s festival, plan on bringing the family for the day.
