The James Fund for neuroblastoma research at SickKids held its 3rd Annual Walk/Run at Trent University. This year 13 year old Doug Harris-Lowe, a close friend of James Birrell challenged Syd Birrell (James’ Dad) to raise $5000. This challenge has been dubbed “Syd vs. the Kid Challenge”. Doug is determined to carry on James’ dream of finding a cure for this childhood disease. Doug remembers that he couldn’t stop crying when James died and he feels nobody should experience that tragedy, especially at such a young age.
