2008 December > Grandmother's Together Fundraiser

Grandmothers Together is only three years old in Peterborough and already making a difference. They held a pot luck fundraiser at the Canoe Museum to raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation for their Grandmother’s Campaign. The money raised will go directly to help African grandmothers as they care for children orphaned by the AIDS pandemic. As numbers of orphans is expected to rise to 20 million by 2010, the grandmothers that are caring for them require help with this new burden. Grandmothers Together has close to 200 groups across Canada. Find out how you can help at www.stephenlewisfoundation.org.
