2008 December > United Way Update
November was an action packed month for United Way events and at the time of this publication we were advised that the Campaign had reached over $1,400,000 toward their goal to Bridge the Gap. SNAP was invited to a number of activities throughout the month and a number of those included food. Soupfest, the Chilli Cook Off at MNR, the annual luncheon at Otonabee Best Western and the auction at Jake's Neighbourhood Grill all offered participants a chance to eat something really good while raising funds for a a really great cause. Volunteer recognition is very important to the United Way and this year's recognition lunch was hosted by the Holiday Inn. Remember, the campaign isn't over yet so stay tuned for more great events coming up in January.
