2008 December > Cox Terrance for Christmas Cox Terrace was built in 1884 as a residential rental building for Geoge A. Cox, a Peterborough entrepreneur who emerged as one of Canada’s wealthiest and most influential businessmen. 100 years later, Cox Terrace was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act and in 2002, Derek Green purchased the building and embarked on an ambitious and successful restoration of the building.
Today, the terrace on Rubidge Street still offers residential rental space but it is also home to 6 Retail Shops that offer goods and services to our local market. When you step onto the porch to enter any one of these unique storefronts, you can feel the history oozing from this well loved property. As the Holiday Season approaches, shoppers coming to this downtown location can find ample parking, easy access and professionals who deliver quality products and services. The range of shops featured here is very interesting and includes art supplies, spa and salon experiences, flowers, gifts, clothes and imported food items. If you haven’t been to Cox Terrace lately, it’s definitely worth a trip to meet the friendly shop keepers who will offer you the best in service and can help you find that perfect gift.
