Civic Award Winner Honoured
A lot of you know her as ‘Akala’ some of you know her as ‘Mom’ and “Grandma’, but now Judy Morrison can add one more title to her role, ‘2008 Civic Award Winner’! Judy was nominated for her outstanding contribution to the betterment of the community of Peterborough during 2008 for her dedication to scouting leadership. ‘Akala’ as she is known in the Scouting Community for over 40 years, is involved in all aspects, from the training and planning to the actual outdoor adventures and activities themselves. To receive this distinctive award, nominees must have contributed at least 300 volunteer hours.
Judy was told by her family that her daughter was going to be presented with an award, but was still very surprised and honoured when she actually received the impressive award itself. Congratulations Judy! February 26th 2010 is the deadline to submit your nominee for 2009. Nomination packages explaining the different categories can be picked up at City Hall.
