Rockin' For Haiti
“Let’s do something that rocks!” is what Rachel said when big sister Vanessa was asking for ideas on how to raise money for Haiti. With that idea in mind, Vanessa Kraus organized a Rock-a-thon with the help of her family. At Lansdowne Place over 25 kids started rocking in chairs for 7 hours. Local celebrities and politicians showed their support with Paul Ayotte, Linda Kash, Paul O’Sullivan, Dean Del Mastro and Bridget Foley all taking time out to “rock on”with these kids. Before the rocking started, they already raised $1000 through pledges but they were collecting donations throughout the day as well as raffling off a pair season tickets for the Peterborough Lakers. It should be noted that all of this was accomplished in just 2 weeks. That’s impressive !
