International Dragon Boat Festival
The International Dragon Boat festival seemed to turn Peterborough pink with support. Some of the teams had fun names such as WONDER BROADS, Windsor, Ontario, BOOBIALLA, Tasmania, or DRAGONS ABREAST MISSABITTATITTI, Brisbane, Queensland. The best time of the race was 2:27.56 by Knot Abreast from Hamilton Ontario. There was a very moving flower ceremony on Sunday to remember the lost team members. Many hugs and lots of survivors held hands as music played and the doves were released. It was the sincere hope of the organizers that participants had a great time while in Peterborough, and at the same time, raising awareness on both a local and international level.
