Polar Paddle
Canoe in winter? why not. You just need some wheels and a whole lot of manpower. Lakefield’s Queen Street was closed for teams of 6 to compete in this 2nd annual Polar Paddle. The sides of the street were filled with spectators and cheering fans. The $75 entry fee went to support the Polarfest and all its activities. Organizer Jennie MacKenzie was pleased with the turn out and is already excited about next year’s contest. If you have a team of 6 and want to jump in a canoe during winter, remember this fun activity next year.
